SOUL LIGHT
- Thirty Three
Change and Real
Prayer
Just 43 years
ago coloured Americans for the first time gained
the right to vote across the United States.
Today, one of those who at his birth was
automatically subject to both segregation and
vilification has been asked to lead their
country and accept the office of President of
the United States and Commander-in-Chief of
their armed forces.
Everything is changing.
Just 32 years ago, Mao Zedong, the communist
leader of China died, marking the end of the
revolution that brought the country to its
knees, destroying much of its history and
culture, smashing its economic infrastructure,
obliterating its educated class and killing an
estimated twenty million people.
Today, China proudly leads the world in
technology and manufacture of everything from
tractors to air conditioners and satellites to
women's clothing.
Nothing that once was will ever be again.
Religion is changing almost as fast.
On July 28, 1999, Pope John Paul II rejected a
physical, literal hell as a place of eternal
fire and torment. Rather, the pope said hell is
separation, even in this life, from the joyful
communion with God.
According to an official Vatican transcript of
the pope's speech, Pope John Paul II noted that
the Scriptural references to hell are only
symbolic and figurative of "the complete
frustration and emptiness of life without God. "
He added, "Rather than a physical place, hell is
the state of those who freely and definitively
separate themselves from God, the source of all
life and joy." He said hell is "a condition
resulting from attitudes and actions which
people adopt in this life."
A black American president; Chinese control of
the world's economy; and the end of 2,000 years
fearing eternal damnation in hell - what can we
expect next?
More change.
Faster change.
More radical change.
In such an environment, we must each learn how
to handle dramatic and rapid change.
And the answer I believe is through prayer.
Not the prayer that happens on bended knees by
the beside and starts with "Help!".
Nor the prayer that starts with an apology "I
know it's been a while, Lord, but I've been
genuinely busy...."
I mean Real Prayer.
Real Prayer is the very act of Life itself.
It's the way we wash up the dishes.
It's the way we speak to our children.
It's the way we treat our neighbours, work
associates and even relatives.
It's the way we play sports.
It's the way we spend our money.
It's the way we deal with the past and the way
we approach the future.
It's the way we use love.
It's the way we respond to the world.
Real Prayer isn't a three minute
under-the-breath exercise at the end of the day
- but rather the very way we move and interact
throughout the day.
This fortnight, choose to Pray your Way through
it.
This means being aware each moment of what you
are doing, thinking and saying - and coming from
your Higher Self in each of these areas as often
as you can remember.
Intentioned Practice will make this exercise
easier - until one day the remembrance of the
divine being you are will flow naturally.
Such remembrance will help you to effortlessly
embrace change.
And you'll find the change you embrace arises
from deep within yourself.
You become the change.
You become the future.
Love and Blessings,
Les

- Thirty Two
Change and Faith.
For the past two
years I have been privately sharing my beliefs
that western civilization, as the dominant power
in the world, is coming to an end.
Such an epochal change is accompanied
unfortunately by waves of economic turmoil as
the old political system is overturned;
religious fundamentalism increases as people
retreat into the assumed ‘safety’ of their
existing beliefs; and every day life that once
seemed orderly is thrown into confusion as
systems change to accommodate new social
landscapes.
The next few years will see the balance of
political power swing between the US and China.
The Middle East will continue to exert
significant tension. At home, employment will
change both in style and availability.
Industrial laws will shift. Environmental
concerns will be relegated downward to
accommodate seemingly more important commercial
demands. Commodity prices (from houses to cars
to fuel) will swing erratically. Social safety
nets will flex. Money and asset values will
undergo significant adjustment. Many personal
relationships will come under greater strain.
I choose not to be more specific as my purpose
isn’t to scare you – but to encourage you.
For in such a global environment it is important
that we each focus on the positive attributes of
these substantial movements. After all, our
personal health and wellbeing depends on our
attitudes toward change.
We need to be able to embrace it with
equanimity, care and composure.
As we make change our benefactor, we see the
benefits flow into our lives.
Naturally, this requires faith – but faith in
who or what?
For many people faith has been exclusively
placed in our governments, our administrations,
our banking systems, our corporations.
Faith for these people expresses itself as
believing that our money and jobs will always be
there; and will always be worth what they are
today. For many, faith is expressed in a God
that will hopefully maintain the status quo.
And yet, life is change. Constant change.
Continual change. Change without end.
Recognising this we can also recognize that the
Divine Presence creates change. Yes, even
permits the change we fear.
The answer therefore is to embrace the Divine
Flow. To accept change. To make change our
friend. To welcome change into our lives – and
to make of it the very best we can.
We do so by recognizing that we are always safe,
no matter what happens.
By recognizing that there is no safety in
yesterday or last year. Only now matters.
And to embrace ‘now’ is to embrace not our needy
ego but our real Self, our Soul!
Luckily, we need not be mastered by the changing
world; nor fearful of it – or its changes.
We can be our own divine Being. We can simply
express our divinity. Be in the world without
being owned by it.
We do this when we realize there is no part of
us that is not empowered.
No part that is not God.
No part that is not Love.
No part that is not Infinite.
Change is coming. Let us go forward and greet it
as a friend.
Let us work with it, move with it, understand it
and find out how to use it as a tool for us to
each express our greatness.
Let us never forget that we are consciously
choosing not to exacerbate this world’s problems
– but rather be part of its solutions.
We are Love!
Let us ensure these changes bring that Love to
the fore.
Let us have that faith which surpasses ordinary
understanding – let us have the faith to know
that everything is happening safely.
Let us have the faith to welcome change.
This week simply visualize and affirm (as often
as you can)
I am the constancy of love in an ocean of loving
change.
I embrace change; and I embrace the Love I am.
Love and Blessings,
Les

BREATHE
A few months ago I offered
readers two mantras:
I AM LOVE
AND LOVE IS ALL I NEED TO GIVE
TO ALL I MEET
AND ALL I DO
And also……
I AM SPIRIT
AND ONLY MY SPIRIT IS REAL
I AM SPIRIT
AND MY SPIRIT IS JOYOUS LOVE
I AM SPIRIT
NOTHING ELSE…. NOTHING LESS.
Many people have written and told me they have
gained much benefit from using them. Some made
them into posters. Others taped them and
listened to them with musical backgrounds…..
This fortnight I’d like to offer you another
mantra I call BREATHE!
Simply make yourself comfortable…..close your
eyes…….and then slowly breath IN and OUT.
On the out-breath repeat out loud ….E GOES OUT
(in other words, ego goes out…….)
On the in-breath repeat out loud……GOD COMES IN
After a few minutes change the mantra from your
external voice to an internal voice. Be silent,
yet continue the chant within….keeping focused
on your slow breath and the meaning (for you) of
the words you intone……
Visualise all egoic thoughts and feelings
leaving you; and the Divine Presence completely
embracing and filling you.
Keep this up for just 10 minutes, preferably
early mornings (but evenings are OK, too). Try
to do it every day.
After a couple of weeks you will notice your
frustrations and angers have been modified; your
irritations and annoyances have declined; your
intolerances and rigidity have weakened. You
will also realize that your co-operative nature
has grown, your care and concern for others has
widened, your love and compassion has deepened
and your sense of wellness and oneness has
expanded significantly. Keep up this mantra,
with focused attention and intention, and you
will soon enjoy significant behavioural and
social benefits!
Please write and let me know how it affects you
personally.
E-GOES OUT……….
GOD COMES IN…………
E-GOES OUT………
GOD COMES IN…………
E-GOES OUT……….
GOD COMES IN………….
Be at peace in Spirit,
Love and Blessings,
Les
