BELIEF
AND FAITH
Last week I
spoke about Real Faith embracing us as our
expectations in such a way that it flows out of
an actual physical knowing within us rather than
just a clump of mental ideas, hopes or even
vague wishes.
One person wrote: “The
fleeting awareness of this knowing is so sweet
and then we forget again. Steps are taken
everyday - and we feel good! We love the
expectation - that really hit the spot.”
Of course, for many people, faith is still only
a mental construct, a longing and desire.
An example of this would be when someone says “I
believe in God”.
They often mean that they mentally hope their
very limited ideas about a power greater than
themselves are correct – but there’s no
expectation attached to them such that it would
in any significant way change their behaviour.
As history continually attests, you can
“believe” in God without that “belief” having
any beneficial effect on your levels of
intolerance, fear, anger, lust, jealousy, pride,
anxiety or worthlessness.
When such a belief is so obviously ineffective
in transforming people one must ask if that
belief holds any real value.
One could also ask what could possibly help
change inappropriate behaviour if “belief in
God” doesn’t?
And the answer is to live – and to sincerely
mean - “I have faith in God”.
Real faith, as we have said, implies a genuine
living expectation.
But what is this expectation?
Surely it’s that I am safe, ok, totally loved
and completely blessed.
That I am infinite spirit, eternal life and
immortal soul.
That I am a part of the Whole, the One-ness –
and thus all else is a part of me; and all
others are my brothers and sisters in divinity.
That Abundance is my birthright and Joyfulness
my natural expression.
That Peace is my Name and Love is my Essence.
When I genuinely have faith in The Divine I
embrace my Greatness, free of any egotistical
comparisons.
I live my life with certainty and sureness.
I lack for nothing, regardless of what I receive
or have removed from me.
The bridge between belief and faith is called
Knowing.
We leave our beliefs behind – all of them. Even
about God.
We step into our Knowing – deep within. Only by
surrendering and embracing deep within.
And then we step into our Faith – and live our
Expectations with richness and sureness. Always
in all ways.
Blessings to you, your family and friends,
Les

HAVING FAITH
In my spare
time I am writing three more books.
You might well ask “why three?” – and my answer
is “because I expect to finish them”.
Expectation, real expectation, is faith.
Finishing the books is not my goal (one volume
has taken three years thus far!). Rather, it is
my vision.
It is a vision based on my expectation – my
faith - that I will finish them.
For many people in our topsy-turvy world, faith
is someone’s else’s understanding that we take
at face value: it’s not our understanding at
all, at least not until we agree to believe what
we’ve been told to believe. This borrowed faith
can however become a strong guide through life
for us.
Its drawback is that it is always second hand –
and is always subject to change or outright
rejection should another more attractive
belief/faith be presented to us.
Being subject to constant challenge, we can
often wander aimlessly from one faith to
another, never quite sure what we really believe
in.
Real faith is never second-hand.
It arises deep within oneself as a knowing.
Yet, it is a knowing which exists outside of any
sense-based discovery.
Such knowings arise from the Soul, the True Mind
of the individual – and propel us forward to
even greater discoveries within.
When I first wish to embark on unknown journeys
I may be well served by asking directions of
others who have already journeyed afar – but
ultimately, with practice and growing
confidence, I must choose to go where no-one
else can ever go – within myself.
And this I must do by myself.
That which I find I can truly have Faith in for
it is my very true Self.
Belief is replaced with Knowing, and Wishing is
replaced with Expectation.
Faith is never an empty vessel - but a cup
overflowing with real values and substance.
In the moment we recognise it we recognise our
true Self and our True Worth.
The trinkets of physical existence become quite
meaningless to us; and we rest content,
peaceful, happy and joyous in our Truth.
We are the Love.
We are the Peace.
We are the Oneness that was, is and always will
be.
Have Faith - you’ll find it to be so if you go
within.
But whatever you do – don’t take my word for
it!!
Blessings to your family and friends,
Les

HAPPINESS – STEP FIVE:
ESTABLISHING ONE’S BEING IN DIVINE GUIDANCE
Ultimately, Happiness arises from within oneself
the moment one surrenders to Divine Guidance.
After we’ve thought all our thoughts, planned
all our plans, plotted all our plots, dreamed
all our dreams and manipulated everyone and
everything we realize we ultimately have control
over nothing outside our Self.
We cannot control our life, our death or
anything physical in-between for more than a
moment in time.
In fact, at a physical level we realize we are
ourselves significantly controlled – at least at
a physical level – by the sheer weight of
influences that bear down on us unrelentingly
from everyone and everywhere all the time.
Only within our Self do we find refuge.
And only within the True within our Self do we
find anything of meaningful value, worth and
substance: for then we find the Divine.
True Happiness is the state of returned Self to
Soul, of life lived as the Divine Dance it was
always meant to be.
It cannot be lived in Ultimate One-ness for
ultimate One-ness negates duality: we simply
cease to be.
Our duality, this separation of a kind from the
Divine is a purposeful and creative act by the
Divine to express its blissfulness. Only through
objective experience can bliss be experienced.
Thus, our duality is a wholesome aspect of the
Play of Existence: we are meant to move to the
divine Dance of Life.
Yet how to know how to move?
What steps to take?
Whom to have as partner?
Divine Guidance shows us.
Such Guidance is the very dance of life itself.
“Allow me to be your partner” says God. “Let me
lead you. Simply follow me”.
God and I then dance together – and happiness is
the rhythm of life to which we dance!
“Come, take another partner, now!” says God.
“Just remember every step that I have taught
you”.
And thus I dance with you and you and you and
you…..and recognize the guidance for my rhythm!
“Come, join us in the dance!” we say to God,
ecstatically.
“My pleasure!” is God’s sweet reply.
Thus God and You and I dance for eternity.
God, You, And I - Dance!
G-u-i-dance!
Maybe it was best said by the Turkish Sufi
mystic Rumi around 1250AD:
I watch you dancing in all my actions
Without using my eyes, I spy you at play
- Jalal-ud-Din Rumi
When he died twenty years later, he was still
blissed out with happiness.
I send you boundless love and indubitable
happiness!
Blessings to your family and friends,
Les

HAPPINESS – STEP FOUR:
Om Mani Padme Hum - LIVING IN AWARENESS
Three articles ago I spoke about the first step
to happiness – stop comparing ourself with
anyone else.
The following article I spoke about how
happiness is being truly real and seeing through
the insanity of “normal” life.
We DROP the distortions and dysfunctions which
create the madness that spins itself into a
mesmerising nightmare we call our society.
We still exist in society; but we’re no longer
mentally trapped and emotionally crippled by its
madness.
In the last article I shared how reality and
happiness are truly ordinary – and that
awareness – and only awareness - leads to this
natural state of being.
This week I’d like to share one of those prime
awarenesses that most certainly lead to real
happiness.
It’s found in the famous Buddhist mantra: Om
Mani Padme Hum…..
Om – This is the Sanskrit word used in ancient
India for God. Actually it means “every thing”
as everything is, of course, an aspect of the
Divine. When we awaken to this understanding we
realise that ultimately everything and everyone
is One. Such an understanding, fully
comprehended, leads to instant bliss! Everyone
is our brother and sister and ourself! Jesus
himself spoke most aptly when he exclaimed “I
and my Father are One!”
However, duality exists in all realms for all is
in a state of separation for the purpose of
experience. That goes for the spirit realms as
well as the recognizably-dimensional earthen
realms. Understanding this we seek for a way to
access the Divine (and our true happiness!)
within this realm of duality. Jesus, again, said
it so aptly when he remarked “The father is in
me; and I in him”.
This access we achieve through our Heart. Love
is not only the expression of the Divine within
our duality – but, in a sense, is that Divinity
itself. So when we express Love we are really
expressing the God-light. Jesus well understood
this when he said “….the Father told me what I
should say and what I should speak”. When we
live from within our Heart our lives are full
and rich with love; and happiness walks easily
hand in hand with us.
This Divine Love, when accessed allows us to
experience True Wisdom. This isn’t everyday
understanding as Jesus noted when he said “If I
bear witness of myself my witness is not true”.
In other words, the illusion of Self isn’t the
real thing. Those things that are real, however
– reality itself – can only be accessed through
True Wisdom; and this, say all the sages, comes
only through the Heart and never through the
head.
Just as Wisdom flows through Love, so Truth
flows through Wisdom. Truth for most of us is
simply what we believe in the moment. And yet
Universal Truths also exist – often far
different from our own limited perspectives! To
access these Truths we must first access Wisdom.
“I seek not my own will but the Will of the
Father who sent me” said Jesus. We couldn’t do
much better than to seek similarly ourselves,
surely! For in those truths lies the very soul
of the happiness we seek!
Seeking within Truth – within ourselves - we
find the Divine. Jesus shared this with the
world when he stated “He that has seen me has
seen the Father”! Wow! One could almost imagine
he had been chanting Buddha’s ancient mantra!
Om Mani Padme Hum in the centre of Love which is
called your Heart lies Wisdom which is called
the Lotus flower in the centre of which lies
Truth which is called the Gem of Inestimable
Value in the centre of which is the Boundless
Vibration-less Nothingness – the pure and
infinite potential of all universes…..called
God!
When we become truly aware and conscious of this
quite simple reality then Happiness springs from
our being with great joyousness in celebration
that we are aware. Aware above all else that we
simply ARE! No conditions. No demands. No hells.
No false heavens. Nothing we have to do. Nowhere
we have to go. Nothing we have to achieve. Just
to BE. To be LOVE. Always were. And always will
be. How good is that! How happy does that make
you?
I send you boundless love and happiness!
Blessings to your family and friends,
Les

HAPPINESS – STEP THREE:
UNDERSTANDING THAT WHAT WE ARE
SEEKING IS THE ORDINARY.
Two articles ago I spoke about the first step –
how happiness can start to happen when we stop
comparing ourself with anyone else.
Last article I spoke about how happiness is
being truly real and seeing through the insanity
of “normal” life.
That when we are in tune with reality, we’re
happy because we move into harmony with what’s
real.
We DROP the distortions and dysfunctions which
create the madness that spins itself into a
mesmerising nightmare we call our society.
We still exist in society; but we’re no longer
mentally trapped and emotionally crippled by its
madness.
This week I want to share how reality and
happiness is truly ordinary.
I am reminded of that great Aussie Jessica
Watson, just 16 years old, who sailed solo and
unassisted around the world. On her return last
weekend she said “I am completely ordinary.
That's the thing. I just put a lot of effort in,
had a great team around me and I think that goes
to show you don't have to be anyone special to
achieve something big. You just have to want
it."
The same goes for happiness.
We just have to truly and deeply WANT it.
And be totally committed and willing to put the
effort in.
Happiness is completely ordinary and can be
achieved by completely ordinary people, like you
and I.
We just have to become AWARE!
When the great Sufi poet, Jalal-ud-Din Rumi
became aware he wrote:
What I tell about 'me' I tell about you
The walls between us long ago burned down
This voice seizing me is your voice
Burning to speak to us of us.
We need to be burning with the fire of desire
ourselves to find and BE ourselves.
To find and speak and share and delight in our
happiness.
Awareness is the key.
And this requires that we be ordinary – not
somehow above others, or superior, or better, or
more spiritual.
But simply aware.
Aware that we are spirit having a physical
existence.
Aware that we are love.
Aware that we are harmony.
Aware that peace can never come by going to war.
Aware that safety can never come by building
bigger fences.
Aware that health can never come in a pill or a
bottle or a needle.
Aware that happiness can never come if it means
we have to get things or keep things (or people
or places or titles or tasks or even our hopes
and dreams)
Aware that equality and fairness can never come
by selfishness and greed.
Aware that no-one needs the answers; only a
burning desire to be aware.
Awareness leads us back to reality.
Being in reality brings us happiness. Real
happiness.
Such happiness is so complete it requires no
conditions, demands, objectives, outcomes or
circumstances.
It is complete in itself.
This is what we seek.
The state of real ordinariness.
This week, look at all your friends, relatives,
family, business associates through FRESH eyes.
Just look at them.
Not as someone who wants something from them.
But as someone who is simply looking at them.
Don’t tag them with pre-made descriptions; don’t
assign them any kind of personality.
Just look at them deeply.
Be aware.
And let me know how your perspective on them –
and yourself -changes just by being objectively
aware.
I send you boundless love!
Blessings to your family and friends,
Les

HAPPINESS – STEP TWO:
UNDERSTANDING WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
Last week I spoke about STEP ONE – not comparing
oneself with anyone else.
Justine from Sydney wrote: “Hey Les, I loved
Step 1, I could really relate to this piece. A
task last year brought out my self-doubt and
issues of self-worth. I can honestly say my
comparing myself to other people robbed me of my
power and spirit, and my connection to my own
soul was lessened.
As usual
when life throws me the big ones, I retreated
into my heart and read and talked about love
until I felt it radiant within. Spirit wouldn't
have given me the task, if I was not capable of
it. I had to raise my spirit to the task and
have faith that spirit would provide everything
I needed and spirit did. The White Lotus
Sanctuary (in western Sydney) was born…..”
This spiritual Sanctuary now offers spiritual
services every week – and came into existence
after Justine stopped comparing herself and her
abilities against other people. What can you
achieve by doing likewise?
Lizzy from Darwin said “Nice one Les, thanks!
There's a real simple exercise in the Avatar
ReSurfacing workshop ... "Deliberately smile
until you feel happy"!! I often teach this one
to the school kids I teach as a relief teacher -
all ages from pre-school to year 12 - they love
it! It's so easy to be happy, it's just a
decision hey…..”
Lizzy lives by Harry Palmer’s famous saying
"every moment that you are happy is a gift to
rest of the world".
The SECOND STEP to help us achieve a natural
state of happiness is TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE
SEEKING.
This is most easily discovered by understanding
what happiness isn’t.
It’s not excitement.
It’s not a thrill.
It’s not even joy or bliss (although it may
express itself as these).
It’s connection to reality.
When we are in tune with reality, we’re happy.
When we’re in tune with reality we’re really in
harmony with what’s real.
We’ve dropped – at least for the moment – the
false, the illusory and all the delusions that
create our society.
Did you grasp that? We become happy when we DROP
the distortions and dysfunctions which create
the madness that spins itself into a tight web
we call our society.
This web traps us with its lure of happiness.
But this web is just a dream that’s grown so
all-encompassing it’s turned into a nightmare.
When trapped we believe the dream – that money
will make us happy, that great sex will make us
happy, that power will make us happy, that drugs
will make us happy, that the right conditions
will make us happy, that any other person is
able to make us happy.
And because none of this has the ability to make
us happy we suffer life year after year, life
after life in the nightmare.
We commit to the nightmare.
We trust it.
We hope that violent war will lead to peace;
that ugly greed will lead to fulfilment; that
deadly chemicals will lead to health, that
constant thinking will lead to action, and that
a great physique will lead to love.
None of them do.
So we remain, as a race, unhappy.
The answer is as plain as day: happiness is
being real.
It has almost nothing to do with our physical
condition, our economic state, our religious
convictions, our work status or our politics.
And it has nothing at all to do with anyone else
on this planet – alive or dead.
We become happy the moment we drop the ego, the
nonsense, the lies, the hierarchies, the
madnesses, the dogmas, the political creeds, the
fashion trends, the supposed health practices –
and everything else - that tie us hand and foot
to this chaotic rat race we ought to acknowledge
as a seriously deluded lunatic asylum, called
Planet Earth (once also known as the Garden of
Eden, incidentally).
This is what we are seeking.
I send you boundless love!
Blessings to your family and friends,
Les

HAPPINESS –
STEP ONE: NOT COMPARING ONESELF
Are you
happy?
Anthony De
Mello, the late and famous Catholic priest from
India, once said that no-one was happy.
He said
that no-one even wanted to be happy – they liked
being sad, hurt, disillusioned and angry.
I’m not
quite as pessimistic as Anthony – I believe
happiness is possible on this planet.
It first
requires that we stop comparing ourself with
others.
Stop
comparing ourselves in a superior way – or in an
inferior way.
Stop making
comparisons, the purpose of which is to confirm
our pre-determined perceptions (good or bad) of
ourself.
Stop seeing
ourself as better than her; but not as good as
him.
Or
better-looking than that one – but way below par
when compared with that one.
Or a better
‘catch’ than ‘x’; but not as good as ‘y’.
Happiness
requires that we dance – because we stop
determining that we can’t after having seen what
others can do on TV.
It requires
that we sing – regardless of whether we ever
make it onto a talent show.
That we
paint – even if people won’t pay us to.
That we
write stories or poems – just for the fun and
pleasure of it.
That we do
things simply because in our own way (and in our
own style) we can.
Not because
it necessarily passes muster on anyone else’s
parade.
When we
stop the comparison game, we’re no longer dumber
or brighter; no longer less or more; no longer
concerned to be richer or luckier; no longer
needing to achieve higher levels or leave the
playing field.
We’re okay
to be us.
Just as we
are.
No
score-boards.
It’s about
simply observing everyone as if they were
extra-ordinary life-forms going about finding
out that they’re extra-ordinary life-forms.
Which they are.
And doing
so without having to compare.
Such living
surely takes us on the first step toward
happiness.
Is it easy?
Depends on
whether you think it is!
It is if
you think it is!
Try it this
week – stop comparing yourself against your work
colleagues, your friends, other family members
or your partner.
How do you
feel?
I send you
boundless love!
Blessings
to your family and friends,
Les

EASTER –
Death and Life
I remember as a
child hearing the story of Jesus’ crucifixion
and resurrection.
It fascinated me;
especially because all the churches seemed
fixated on some strange purpose for his barbaric
killing and an equally strange reliance on the
sureness of his physical resurrection.
For me, the magic
of the story lay in the fact that regardless of
what happened to him Jesus seemed to have a
cast-iron relationship with the Divine. Even
when he gets frustrated and is in his worst
death throes his cry is a direct call to God –
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
He doesn’t cry
out to his captors, his family or his friends.
First and last
comes God.
This, for me, was
always the central theme of Jesus’ spiritual
ministry: aligning oneself with God.
Easter – the
pagan festival of Eostre – celebrated the
resurrection and rebirth of spring; hence, its
placement after the full moon.
Put anther way,
Easter celebrates rebirth.
But what really
is the rebirth which is celebrated?
Surely it’s the
rebirth of you and I into our real relationship
with God.
It starts with
the death of the ego…..
It ends with the
resurrection of the spirit which is one with the
Divine.
The Jesus Easter
story parallels the journey each of us must
take.
Through death
arose life anew.
Through the death
of our ego-centred approach to life arises a new
kind of life based on the same kind of
relationship with God that Jesus found.
It’s a
relationship that puts God first and last, no
matter what happens.
Is this how you
live now?
This is
specifically the core of the Jesus story – and
Easter - as explained in the Bible.
For such a
relationship to be real for each of us we need
to really find it for ourselves.
And the only
place we can find anything of course is within,
So the source of
our relationship with the Divine arises from
deep within.
Just like it did
for Jesus.
Trudi and I wish
you all a blessed, peace-filled, love
overflowing Easter.
May you use this
time to deepen your relationship, as a divine
being of Light, with God, the Only Source of All
That Really Is.
May you
experience your own death of ego and celebrate
the resurrection within you of that spirit that
flows in pure alignment with Divine Will.
This is our
purpose.
What better time
than now to let it happen!
I send you
boundless love!
Blessings to your
family and friends,
Les

A SENSE OF
SEPARATION FROM THE DIVINE IS OUR GREATEST
ILLUSION
In the
Jewish creation story, the first humans sensed
their individuality – and perceived it as a
state of separateness from God. In this
perceived state of separateness they found
themselves capable of operating in contradiction
to God’s laws; and thus God seemingly punished
them by removing them from his Presence.
They found
this perceived state of separateness so lacking
that they felt the need to clothe themselves and
hide from the Divine.
This mythic
tale was a rabbinic method of sharing with their
flock the false belief that we have been
forcibly removed from the Presence of the Divine
because of our guilt. The rest of the Jewish
Bible is about man’s inappropriate attempts to
prove his guilt and his grossly inadequate
attempts to occasionally try to claw his way
back into favour.
It was and
is, a story of distorted perceptions.
Our sense
of separation from the Divine is our greatest
illusion.
There is no
separation possible. Full stop.
We are
divine spirit.
We may forget who we are, we may choose to
ignore who we are, we may pretend to be
something other than what we are – but it makes
not one whit of difference.
We are
still divine Spirit.
And we are
still always – in all ways – in the Divine
Presence.
There is NO separation.
A daffodil
is divine spirit simply being a daffodil.
A tree is divine spirit simply being a tree.
Every human
is always divine spirit simply being a human.
No
scientific discovery, religious dogma, distorted
belief or cataclysmic occurrence can ever change
this.
Like it or
not we are in the Presence of the Divine RIGHT
NOW.
How are you
behaving?
What are
you thinking?
What are
you doing in your life that’s based on
forgetfulness of this simple truth?
What’s the
answer?
Wake up.
Stay conscious. Stop beating yourself up. Be
gentle on yourself. Laugh. Enjoy the moment.
But
remember………because you cannot be separated from
the Divine!!
I send you
boundless love!
Blessings
to your family and friends,

Welcome to the FIRST Issue of Volume 4
In this new volume I’d like to explore the
positive aspects of authentic spiritual life and
offer more practical steps for achieving it.
KNOW NOW
The first step – the biggest step – on the road
to enlightenment is to know you’re on your way.
This requires that you
recognise metaphysically where you’re at right
now.
You might say “Here I am,
moving forward……However, right now I’m also
impatient, intolerant, angry, lazy, doubting,
etc….”
Such self-speak is
perfectly fine; it’s absolutely okay!
This first step requires
only that we acknowledge where we are.
We don’t need to beat
ourselves up for it. We shouldn’t bemoan the
fact that we still have envy or pride or
selfishness or jealousy or anything else holding
us back.
And we should never
compare ourselves with the achievements of
others!
We simply accept where we
are right now.
Until we can recognise and accept where we are
right now we won’t be seriously going anywhere
more fulfilling.
But the moment we acknowledge where we are we’ve
made a huge leap forward!
Suddenly the opportunity to change becomes
possible – but only because we know what we have
to change!
Knowing what to change is
the keystone to achieving change!
For the next 10 days feel
absolutely ok about “where you are” – knowing
that change is on its way – simply because we’ve
recognised and fully accepted our current state
of being.
Know yourself now – know
it fully – and a brighter, more fulfilled future
is an assured certainty!
I send you boundless love!
Blessings to your family and friends,
Les

Stories of Spiritual Connections
Many
thanks to all those people who, following my
last newsletter, shared with me their own
amazing stories of spiritual connections. It’s
wonderful to be reminded there’s more to life
than we can see with the human eye!
Allow me to share just two of the reports I was
sent…..
Marjan's story
A
dear friend of mine, Marjan, departed this life
in her early 40s. She was so full of life and
enthusiasm for living it was very sad to let her
go. I was visiting my mother’s house months
after Marjan's death and that night as I went to
sleep I mentally sent a prayer to Marjan asking
if she would send me a sign that she was
'somewhere' out there. Even just a 'hello' would
be fine I mentally conveyed to her.
Next morning I joined my mother at the breakfast
table. Without a pause or a good morning she
said...."You know I had the strangest dream
about your friend Marjan last night."
I was immediately still...... "What was it?" I
asked.
"Well." said my mother "She just appeared in
this dream, stood in front of me and said
'hello' - and then she was gone. Just like
that....'Hello"...nothing more".
A chill went up my spine....I had received my
message.....'just a hello.
Then another strange event regarding Marjan
happened via my daughter.
When the clairvoyant John Edwards came to
Brisbane my daughter Angela wanted to be part of
his audience but his presentation was fully
booked.
At this time my mother had died and my daughter
who was very close to her grandmother, was
hoping to have contact with her.
The day before his presentation a friend rang
her and had been given 2 free tickets.
My daughter attended with the friend. John
Edwards contacted a number of spirits for the
audience. The audience consisted of 800 people.
He speaks with a very small portion of this
number.
He was about to close up when he said he had one
more connection coming through.
It was, out of 800 people, and the very last,
for my daughter Angela.
She immediately thought it would be her
grandmother (my mother).
But......
John Edwards said he had a friend of her
mother's coming through with an unusual name
starting with M..... He struggled with the name
even saying he wanted to say Marjorie but that
name wasn’t right (Marjorie was Marjan's birth
name but she wouldn't let any of us use it) .
Eventually he got it when it dawned on Angela
who it was.
He said she had died a number of years ago and
was clairvoyant herself (Marjan did card
readings wrote for a newspaper and did a North
Qld TV program now and then).
He continued...'She was a close friend of your
mother's and she wants you to give this message
to her. Tell your mother Marjan said everything
will be alright. She is to know that."
John Edwards then picked up a little dog which
was deceased that belonged to the family -
probably her grandmother - again, he said, the
name was very uncommon - started with a Z.
My mother's little dog was called Zulu. (how
many people even in 800 have a dog with a name
starting with Z ?)
He also had advice from the spirit world for
Angela to pass to someone in the family whose
name started with 'J' .
Angela could not think of anyone in the family

Although there are a lot of hoaxes out
there.....there's many happenings that prove
there IS something in the afterlife and they
demand our attention.

And another……
Hi
Les,
I had a similar experience with my brother: I’d
recently bought a new laptop so I could do more
work from home. It’s a great computer and works
a treat.
Each year I perform a ritual for immediate
family members who have passed over.
This occurs on their birthdays: I take their
photo and put it in front of me, light a candle
and sing Happy Birthday to them.
Then I blow out the candle.
On the night of my brother’s birthday, I had
some work to finish on the computer so I took
his photo and put it near me and explained to
him that I would sing Happy Birthday to him when
I had finished my work. Immediately after I said
those words the mouse jumped all over the
screen, the keys jammed and I couldn’t even
switch the computer off!
I then lit the candle and sang Happy Birthday to
my brother and placed his photo in front of me
for the rest of the night. I didn’t go near the
computer. The following morning, the computer
worked perfectly and has ever since! My brother
had spoken loud and clear!
Cheers - Carla

Valentine’s Day Special!
AN AMAZING HEALING STORY OF SPIRIT
Dear Friends,
Over the year’s I have experienced countless
strange events and stories that deeply support
my belief in the afterlife.
This one was sent to me from a friend whom I
encouraged to visit Sydney to repair the bonds
between himself and his departed Father…..I
trust it helps to give you faith in the often
unseen.
“I’d like to share with you our rather amazing
experience whilst in Sydney to perform the
"mission" Les had given me as a means to free
myself of my inner issues.
We had to arrange a suitable large glass bowl
and candles to perform the ceremony at the
Northern Suburbs Crematorium gardens. There was
no set place where my Dad’s ashes were as my Mum
had elected to have the administration take care
of them after the cremation service some 5 yrs
ago - so my Dad's actual ashes whereabouts were
totally unknown.
We could only presume they had been scattered
throughout the gardens there, somewhere, at the
place where the cremation took place.
It wasn't easy to find a suitable glass
container and the candle situation was even
worse ! We could only find tiny Birthday
candles.
I was nervous and focussed on the task ahead of
me...to read out a letter to my deceased father
at the crematorium with a candle burning inside
a glass vial and a picture of my Dad set into
the ground underneath a lovely rose bush!
I selected a location, to perform the ceremony.
By instinct and hope something led me to a
beautiful section of rose bushes, a very
comforting fountain, with bubbling water, which
of course, set a very pleasant audible
background.
We set my Dad's photo into the garden under the
rose bush.....candle lit inside the punch bowl
glass vial....... My partner opened with a
prayer and then we had a quiet moment
thereafter.
I then commenced reading the letter I had
created.
As I read each page I burnt it, six pages in
all.
We generated a lot of heat in this glass punch
bowl as all the pages burnt as they were read.
It was untouchable after the final pages burnt.
My partner noticed that at some point as I read,
the clouds parted and sunlight streamed through
and the winds stopped for a short time during my
reading.
At the end of everything I closed in prayer and
during this time, I also asked that the divine
presence would offer us the contentment of
knowing that a spiritual connection had been
made with my Dad there that day.
We then had another quiet time after that in
reflection, prior to packing up everything. the
bowl was full of black and totally burnt paper;
it appeared as if everything had been
accomplished in this regard.
Then, the tiniest piece of unburnt paper - the
only piece to have missed total destruction -
blew out of the bowl and landed on the ground
and caught the eye of my partner.
She and I found it hard to fathom, that this
most tiny of pieces of paper - no more than a
centimeter across - had one word still on it
that was un-burnt!
It said; "Father".
There were only 2 or three references to this
word in the entire letter – out of the 300-400
words within this letter - which all had been
burnt and the only piece that wasn't burnt said
this word “Father” which had then blown out of
the glass bowl by the wind and landed at our
feet!
It was pretty special!
I still have this tiny piece of paper as proof
and it was our blessing which told us my Father
was present and that we had made our connection.
It was a very releasing moment for me and for
both of us the proof of connecting with him
happened as a result of that amazing piece of
paper!!
I hope you enjoyed reading my story.
Permission granted for me to relay this true
story – thankyou. Name withheld for courtesy
purposes.
I have personally seen that piece of paper,
burnt all around the edges…..
Miracles do happen!
Spirit does connect with us!
If you would like help to resolve some issue in
your life, please know that help is always at
hand.
Blessings and love,
Les

THE NEW YEAR
Dearest Friends,
The New Year is upon us
already.
As with every new day,
indeed every sacred moment, we are offered fresh
chances to repair old wounds.
Transformation is always but a momentary pause
in our illusions, away!
Self-realisation is always
within us, as us; and thus ever ready to step
into active guidance.
I feel it might be useful for us all to start
off with a prayer of Hope, a Prayer of Healing
(actually the same one as is used in our
Worldwide Healing Prayer Vigil) – I believe this
might be a propitious step for 2010!
I encourage you to say this prayer, preferably
aloud, at least once a day for at least seven
days.
Please let me know how things are in your life
at the end of that time!
Dear God,
Great Spirit of the
Universe,
Loving creator of our bodies and our souls
We give you grateful thanks for life itself.
We acknowledge the wholeness and the infinite
love that we are.
We affirm the god within ourselves and within
All That Is.
We dedicate ourselves to Divine Will, expressing
Itself through us.
We submit to your great Purpose with all our
Un-knowing;
and we do so with faith and with gratitude.
We understand the transforming power of love and
we pledge ourselves to be this Love consciously.
We ask you to help us to empty ourselves of all
our hurts, our pains, our fears and our
pettinesses;
and to make of us hollow bones - so that we may
be filled with your most healing love.
We ask that we now be a channel of Infinite
healing Light;
and that all that seek through us may find
and all that ask through us may be answered.
Be our walking; guide our footsteps and our
every action; to the everlasting delight of
Divine Being.
We surrender ourselves into Divine care and use.
And now we hold all of humanity in perfect
wholeness and embrace all in their absolute
perfection.
We see All and Everyone only as their truth,
their light, their love, their peace, their
harmony, their Christ-light, their Buddha-hood.
They are truly already whole and eternal we give
thanks for their wholeness and eternal state of
being-ness.
All is.
Amen.

Christmas Message
Please accept Trudi and
my thanks for all your well wishes for the festive season.
Thanks also to those who respond to my articles during the
year.
One person wrote this
week:
“I felt I was the only person feeling like a Christmas
Grinch. After I read your message, I was in the bank and
people were talking behind me. They were saying exactly what
you said. Christmas has lost its true meaning, or rather
people have. I live in a low socio-economic area, many of
these people spend more than they can afford at this time of
year. If only they could see their own self worth and love
who they are and realize how much they already have. I want
to shout from the roof tops. STOP and see how much you have,
enjoy it and be happy”.
On a lighter note to finish the year, let me share with you
a bit of nonsense.
Remember the Christmas
song…..
On the twelfth day of
Christmas my true love gave to me
Twelve drummers drumming
eleven pipers piping
ten lords a' leaping
nine ladies dancing
eight maids a' milking
seven swans a' swimming
six geese a' laying
five gold rings
four calling birds
three French hens
two turtle doves
and a partridge in a pear tree
According to the US PNC Bank, those 364 gifts were valued at
US$12, 623 in 1984 and US$21,465 this year – almost a 100%
increase and that’s in spite of any recession! Main
increases were the five gold rings, up 43% for the year.
There was no overall increase in wages for pipers, drummers,
lords or maids – with just the ladies dancing, up 15%.
I’m not sure if that included Pole Dancers.
The 12 Days of Christmas traditionally start on Boxing Day.
Originally a French song, it became popular in England as a
singing game in 1780. One person would sing a line and
everyone would repeat it. Then just the next line and
everyone would have to repeat both, etc….Whoever tripped up
on the words would have to give the song Leader a kiss or a
sweet or suchlike.
The Scottish version would probably have been harder to sing
but certainly described a heartily lusty Scottish approach
to the festive season…”.. a good stuffing without bones, two
breasts of veal, three joints of beef, four pigs' trotters,
five legs of mutton, six partridges with cabbage, seven
spitted rabbits, eight plates of salad, nine dishes for a
chapter of canons, ten full casks, eleven beautiful
full-breasted maidens, and twelve musketeers with their
swords”.
Makes me feel sorry for the twelfth musketeer….
A clever Catholic in the late 19th century used the song as
a reminder of the Catholic catechism:
-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew,
Mark, Luke & John.
-The five golden rings recalled the first five books of the
Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of
the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation,
Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight Maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy
Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,
Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten Lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful
disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points
of belief in the Apostles' Creed
Enjoy the song any way
you wish. Remember it’s not the song that matters- but how
you sing each song. It’s not the season that matters but how
you season each day.
Trudi and I wish
everyone a peace-filled festive season, wherein love for all
sentient life overflows. Happy Christmas!

Time for The Presents
It’s that time of year again. Once more it’s
time for the presents.
And once more the emphasis is on giving.
For some of us this is done under the watchful
eye of Old Saint Nick. Others copy-cat three
wise men from the East. And many others amongst
us just fall into the trap of maintaining
tradition.
Yet what do we give? Things. Big things, little
things. Brightly wrapped things. Budget things,
expensive things. Practical things. Useless
things. Asked for things. Things to impress,
Things to prove we haven’t forgotten. Things to
show we still love.
Even the humble Xmas card is a given thing –
appropriate and cost-effective for giving out in
large numbers to family, friends, neighbours –
even favoured tradespeople, work associates,
clients and customers.
Christmas has become a time to give give give
things things things..
Not to give things is seen to be miserly, mean,
selfish, uncaring…..
Yet is this what Christmas has come down to –
‘Pass the Present’?
According to the commercial world, yes.
How can you deprive your children of the latest
X-box?! This is the time to show her you care
via that expensive necklace, now reduced to half
price! Impress your family this Christmas with
the latest twin cab ute…..and we’ll throw in a
bonus tax break, too!
The present with the greatest value is your own
Presence.
Christ-mass isn’t about presents. It’s about the
Presence.
The Presence which you are, already, deep
within.
It’s about sharing that Presence with your
family, your friends, your neighbours, total
strangers…..
It’s about a birth says a Mum in the front row.
Correct. The birth of consciousness. Of the
Presence within humanity. The Presence which
exists deep within you, as you, right now, right
here (even as you read/hear these words).
It’s about gifts says a small child. Correct.
The three most valued gifts of all - one’s
Presence, one’s Acceptance and one’s Love.
Forget the things, even the expensive or the
exclusive things - the frankincense, the myrrh
and the gold. They’re still just things.
It’s your Presence, your real and divine
Presence, freely and joyfully given and shared
which is the real value, the gold – your
divinity.
It’s your Acceptance, the ability to include
everyone (regardless of their behaviour) as a
child of the Divine which is the real activity,
the frankincense – your spiritual integrity.
And it’s your Love, your very expression of the
Godlight within you, which is the real spice,
the myrrh – your life lived authentically.
These gifts don’t need the excuse of a tawdry,
over-commercialised Christmas festivity.
No gaudy lights. No fancy trees. No ‘dreaming of
a white Christmas’ carols (which we croon
unthinkingly under scorching hot skies in
Australia!).
These gifts just need YOU to allow them to be
birthed, moment after moment, day after day.
Anyday. Everyday.
Pretty ordinary really. And yet wondrous, too.
But then, so was the birth of my good friend,
Jesus.
May you have a peace-filled festive season in
which love overflows abundantly……
For myself, I give you my Presence, my
Acceptance and my Love.
Peace Be Within You this festive season

BUTTERFLIES.
Have you seen any extraordinarily beautiful
butterflies flying about lately?
I have. A friend was with me and he suggested we
catch it to add to his specimen board.
This man epitomises our materialistic human
society: let’s catch it and own it. Let’s keep
it all to ourselves. Let’s add it to our
collection of dead things. Let’s show it off as
something that belongs to us.
This is the madness of our world – we collect
dead things.
People do this with just about everything from
old resentments to ancient religions and modern
gadgets to brand new dollar notes.
Friends, cars, bank accounts…. the latest
electronic gizmo, the newest overseas holiday
destination, the miniature horse, the latest
flat screen plasma TV…
What do we want? Everything!
When do we want it? Now!
Surely we need to learn to simply enjoy what we
have in the moment.
To let it be, without having to own it.
If we have it for the moment, we enjoy its
presence. If we don’t possess it in that moment
then whatever we do have in its place we enjoy,
instead.
Of course, if my friend had been a scientist (or
a doctor) he’d have wanted to dissect it.
These are its wings. Pluck. Pluck.
These its antennae. Plick. Plick.
Here’s its six legs. Plack. Plack. Plack. Plack.
Plack. Plack.
This is its Head. Schook.
Here’s its Thorax (chest). Schunk.
And its abdomen. Plink.
All done, six little bottles containing one
butterfly.
But do they?
Where is the lofty soaring of the butterfly?
Where is the numinous beauty of the butterfly?
Where is the wonder and awe that took our breath
away?
Certainly not in the bottles.
The bottles simply contain the dead bits. The
dead things.
The aliveness of the butterfly has flown away!
That aliveness lives on – now it’s in your
heart!
Try for a week NOT OWNING DEAD THINGS.
Let go of everything that isn’t YOU.
That means dropping your sense of ownership
toward money, jobs, family, social status,
lovers, the future, the past – even your guilt's,
worries, doubts, fears, hopes and expectations.
Let them all go.
Move out of your long dead cocoon of safety!
For just one week gently move above the
mundane…… and become the extraordinarily
beautiful and capable butterfly you already are!
Come, fly!
Love and blessings,
Les

THE CENTRE OF ‘THOUGHT’ IS ‘U’ !
My last article encouraged many of you to write
– thankyou!
One person wrote: “I fired my inner critic
recently. My inner peace is working with me
now.....”.
How good is that?!?!? It’s something to deeply
aspire to!
Another friend wrote: “Much of what I've been
reading says we have no control over our
thoughts. Our brain makes decisions earlier than
we're aware of them, so we actually have little
control over what thoughts or decisions come our
way. My experience backs that up, although I do
(seem to) have control over whether I focus on a
thought that comes up, obsess over it, release
it, believe it, or just watch it pass through.
However, I suspect that I don't have control
over any of that either…..”.
My response may hopefully help others who have
had the same idea:
Of course we have control over our thoughts – if
we choose to! Didn't even those people who write
“we have no control” have control over what they
wrote?
Would you ever trust anyone who said they have
no control over who they are or what they do?
Even Jesus had control over what he did - even
if it was to surrender to his Higher Self!
Surrendering to our Higher Self we simply give
control to that which we really are; and remove
control from the ego. We – the real ‘us’- then
gains control!
Naturally, our autonomic system operates
independently from consciousness - but that in
no way refutes the reality that we can have
control over most of what we consciously think.
In this way we can ameliorate and repair
dysfunctional early-childhood perceptual
programs. If we couldn't we'd never be able to
change! We'd always remain in sabotaging
delusion!
We can also choose love and compassion as our
expressions of life (so easy when we connect so
naturally and easily with them!).
The same writer also mentioned: “We appear to
have free will, yet it seems we do not”.
My reply: Of course we have free will – always –
but only over our thoughts (the input) - never
over the results of those thoughts (the output).
Naturally, we have no will over the thoughts
(and therefore, the actions) of any others.
Our thoughts are always ours to own – the
actions that flow are no concern of ours.
Understood correctly, this is the end of our
sense of failure (in any area of our life), of
worthlessness, of uselessness, of not being good
enough….
It’s also the start of genuine self-appreciation
and self-worth.
I shall leave the last word to a regular
respondent who exemplifies this in everyday
action…..
Yesterday I hopped into a taxi in Sydney and
asked the driver, "Fox Studios please"
His question to me: " the professional entrance
then?
I said "Yes please.......How did you know that?"
He said "Because you look professional".
This I found odd as I still dress like a
teenager at the age of 42!
I then said to him "You’re very intelligent"
The Japanese driver said "Intelligent? No! Not a
taxi driver!"
I replied: "Yes you are. And a good man, too".
He cried, almost shook my hand off and thanked
me a million times over….
What will you do this week with YOUR thoughts?
Love and blessings,
Les

FOCUS ON YOUR INPUT - NOT YOUR OUTPUT
Last article I wrote that we will always be
unhappy if we compare ourselves against others.
We will also always be unhappy if we focus on
our output.
In other words, if we place our happiness on the
effects we create or the results we produce we
will be setting ourselves up for “failure”.
Often, we may manage to achieve good outcomes
that will satisfy our ego, that Inner Critic.
But at other times we will “fail” ourselves
because of our comparison with the perceived
results and output of others.
Even if we don’t compare ourselves with others
but simply measure our achievements by our own
arbitrary benchmarks we will often be focusing
on the source of discontent.
Imagine you definitely wanted to shoot someone -
but missed! What are you guilty of? Yes, of your
thoughts. It is your input thought that is
errant.
Imagine you were simply cleaning a gun when it
fell and accidentally shot someone…. What are
you guilty of now? Not your input thought
(although maybe your carelessness!).
Imagine you wished to love someone dearly but
they refused to have anything to do with you.
It matters not. The outcome is of no lasting and
real importance. Only the input, the thoughts
you hold toward that person, truly matter.
When we focus on each and every input thought –
and dedicate each and every one of them to the
Divine – we are living with a clear focus of
Love.
We commit to control over the only thing we
actually ever have control over – our thoughts.
We cast aside the foolishness of placing our
focus outside ourself, outside where we have no
control over the thoughts and actions of any
other.
No longer can we be demeaned by the results we
achieve or the effects we create.
We finally wake up to reality: we are only ever
in charge of what we think.
And what we really deeply think only flowers as
Love when we wake up to who we truly are.
We are Love.
And Light.
And Spirit.
And joy!
Try it again - send your Inner Critic on
holidays for another week.
Once more, associate with the Divine Presence
within you, your Soul-Heart.
Focus on your input – not your output – for just
one week.
As before, whenever a report arrives on your
brain's desk from the Inner Critic, trash it,
sight unseen.
Simply be who you are. A beautiful being of
Light and Love.
This week, like the previous, may not bring you
total happiness; but it may well lead you
further along that golden highway that leads
toward it!
Love and blessings,
Les
